From the original issues of HSMSE’s newspaper, the discussion of diversity has often been brought up. We live in one of the most diverse cities in the world and our school is one of the best at incorporating lots of backgrounds into our small classes. While we have been exposed to this diversity for years and we have spent lots of time exploring new neighborhoods of NYC, there are still some basic things that can define New Yorkers. As part of the nostalgic blast to the past that this issue has featured, we have a fun set of questions to determine if the students of HSMSE are TRUE New Yorkers:
Question 1: How many bridges connect Manhattan and Brooklyn?
Question 2: What neighborhood is sometimes referred to as “Restaurant Row?”
Question 3: Which street is known for high-end luxury stores and boutiques?
Question 4: What is the busiest subway station in NYC?
Question 5: What is the bike-sharing program in New York called?
Question 6: Name three museums on the east side of Manhattan.
Question 7: What is the longest transit line in NYC?
Question 8: TRUE or FALSE. Was Brooklyn home to the original Giants and the original Dodgers baseball teams?
Question 9: What train line gets New Yorkers to Roosevelt Island?
Question 10: Which borough is home to the most parks and green spaces?
