The Flying Dragons, our school’s running team, is currently in its outdoor track season.

The largest team at our school consists of about 90 students who participate in different track & field events including long distance, sprints, high jump, pole vault, hurdling and javelin throw. The one and only Coach Henning, our very own gentle giant, oversees both the girls and boys teams and works to get the teams to different meets around the city. Various meets take place at many locations such as: Harry S. Truman High School, Icahn Stadium, JFK High School and other tracks across the city. After their meet on March 27th, the team is feeling hopeful for the coming season. Henry Listanowsky, a junior and a captain of the team, had this to say: “The team did well in their meet, and I’m excited to see what the new athletes bring to the table.” This year there has been a surge in girls joining the team, with about 20 new recruits to the girl’s team. If you would like to see this wonderful team in action, some upcoming meets are April 7th  at Icahn stadium, the 9th at Harry S. Truman High School, and the 11th at JFK High School.
